"Place your hand over your heart. Feel that? That's called PURPOSE. You're alive for a reason. Don't forget that."  - Anonymous

WELCOME to V SAFE 22. This page is aimed at preventing Veteran suicide.  We are not counselors, or doctors, just Veterans who have gone through, or are still going through battles with the inner demons.  We are sharing what goes on in our minds and our thought process in hopes that it may help others.   If you are a Veteran, we thank you for your service and encourage you to check out our VETERANS tab above.        If you are a friend or family member of a Veteran, we seek to arm you with knowledge to help you recognize and battle the depression and suicidal ideations your Veteran may be experiencing. Go to the tab A PEEK INSIDE  to learn about danger signs that could easily be missed, triggers, and communication tips so that you are better equipped to deal with the struggles of your Veteran.

In the aftermath of suicide we have all heard,  "I had no idea", or "I should have done something".  An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.  If you are worried about your Veteran, or suspect something may be wrong, reach out to them.  If you are a Veteran who is depressed, lonely, or feeling hopeless, reach out to someone. There is help out there. We encourage you to visit the additional websites provided on our RESOURCES tab. Also, do some research as there are probably resources not listed here.  We will continuously add new sites as we find them, as well as update information that will help loved ones and their Veterans connect.
